Created by Casa de Fulô Prod, the first edition of the Repique do Tambor Circuit took place in 2016, in Brasília. Bringing together great names from the Brazilian percussive universe, the Festival brought together Olodum, Ilê Aiyê, Raquel Coutinho, André Sampaio and Afromandinga, Maíra Freitas, B Negão, Marco Lobo and Mariene de Castro.
The Circuit also had rhythm workshops with the greatest Masters of each genre: Candomblé Workshop with Ney de Oxosse (RJ); Congado with Maurício Tizumba (MG); Maracatu with Mestre Walter de França, from Estrela Brilhante de Recife (PE) and Percussion Workshop with Olodum (BA).
Being the drum universal and connecting global villages, we propose a deep dive into popular culture, valuing, highlighting and registering our Afro-Brazilian rhythms, origins and traditions. Where there is a drum beat there is joy, color, magic, sound, dance, ancestry and wisdom!
